Hey All -
Just a quick update on a few things. I've still been very busy with work and volunteering and it's going really well. My return ticket is currently booked for August 10th but I'm not sure if I'm going to change it or not.
As of right now I'm planning on meeting up with a friend (who will be traveling) in Bolivia at the beginning of August. I'm really excited about it and hope it works out.
Also, tomorrow is election day here in Argentina which brings up several interesting points. Normally elections are in September but this year they decided to bump them up. Tomorrow's election is for legislative seats, not presidential. Anyway, Starting 12 hours before the polls open (which is 8am tomorrow so 8pm this evening) the entire country is banned from selling alcohol until an hour after polls close tomorrow evening. We're talking grocery stores, bars, clubs, everything. So nothing is happening tonight anywhere.
This law is because voting is mandatory here if you're over 18 and they don't want drunk people voting. Anyway I find it fairly interesting, especially when I went to the store at about 6 tonight and people were seriously stocking up.
Unfortunately though, I had planned on watching the US vs. Brazil soccer game tomorrow at a bar or something but clearly that won't happen.
Hope everyone is doing well! :)
