I'm moving to Taos. I have never been more welcomed in a town of strangers. I had women at the yarn shop giving me contacts for jobs working in the early childhood profession. I've met some of the neatest artists. I've made acquaintances who are smart beautiful people, well educated and provided stimulating conversation over yummy local beers. One sweet, beautiful "fireman" lady even wants me to move into her old apartment and offered to be my reference. I had an amazing day walking around the plaza and people watching. Then I went and visited Taos pueblo, which is the oldest continuously lived in pueblo in America. I bought a cute little bracelet made with turquoise, coral and shells. I also got a little vase made with local clay, and because of the high mica content when the pieces are fired they emerge glittery. I was also lucky to get to try some cookies that are baked in the traditional clay outdoor oven. I really could make this place my home!!
