We got to Hoi An in just 4 hours, a nice short journey compared to most! We went by bus and our friend, Andy, chose to rent a moped and drive himself from Hue to Hoi An following the Top Gear route that he saw on TV before leaving England... we took his bag for him and met him at the hostel. This is a decision he will always regret as he crashed the bike on the dodgy bendy mountain roads and ended up with 6 on his forehead and a beauty of a Harry Potter scar. Well done Andy!

Claire and I visited the old town which was beautiful. Really traditional Vietnam style buildings. We saw the old Assembly House, Museum of History and Culture and lots of other highly decorated buidlings. Everything is primarily red, black and gold and looks very plush with dragon detail everywhere. One of the Kings became King when he was just 7 years old! And we learnt that another King had 1 wife plus 500 concubines, this in the end resulted in him having 167 children!!!

We went to a restaurant where you can cook your own meal and they teach you the thai cooking skills, Claire and our friends opted for this however i opted out (not such a surprise!). But Claire did make some very good spring rolls, hint hint to her family for when she's home
