Hoi hoi All!
How is everyone at home????? I must say I am totally jealous about the masses of hot weather you have been getting! Not so jealous of the fires, but yes, could do with a few more degrees here ;) It is still snowing here!!!!.… and has really only stopped on several occasions since October! I am not sick of snow yet…don't think I could ever get sick of it, but the cold gets old very quickly.
Over the last few weekends Kai and I have been travelling to other Swiss cities, just to get away and break the crazy crazy busy routine that has very quickly set in. We were in Lausanne over the past weekend, which was gorgeous! Lausanne is probably the most pretty big city in Switzerland that I have seen so far. I am happy to be proved wrong…but that will have to be for another trip :)
So really what I should be writing about in this blog is about our holiday with my family last year in September/October. I took soooo long to go through the hundreds of photos, and then went on holiday with Kai's family, then a work trip to Chicago and a work trip to the Virgin Islands (at which point Kai was in Norway for work), that I never sat down and took the time to get to the blog and upload the associated pics. So here it is!
Our trip begun in Venice! It was such a lovely few days, and with the teeny maze-like streets and zillions of cheesy (but oh so fun) souvenir stores that sucked us in, it was a great way to slow mum and dad's pace enough for us to practice getting the ol' legs in motion for the rest of the whirlwind tour of Italy and Paris.
We then headed to Florence, ran amok in the street markets and then Kai and I proceeded to die from colds we had picked up prior to the trip…YES! SICK AGAIN ON HOLIDAY! What the h3ll???? So mum and dad headed out without us and did Florence's sightseeing justice!!!! On our final night in Florence, we were joined again by Tia (who had spent a week or so in London with Neil), at which point she managed to twist our (very) rubber arms and have us spend our last morning in Florence back in the street markets! Haha SO MUCH FUN!
Ok…I just realised this is going to be very very long if I keep going at this rate….so I will sumarise:
IT WAS SOOO MUCH FUN AND I WISH WE COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN! I think Positano was our favourite stop, but really…each city was absolutely gorgeous in it's own way!
Oh yeah, and a funny story: we met a young Canadian guy on our train to Florence who was travelling solo through Italy. We bumped into him at nearly every stop! What are the odds! Mum and Dad bumped into him on the Cinque Terre walk, we also bumped into him in Pisa etc…..and then in Rome at the colosseum with hundreds of people around! It was hilarious! So Tyler, if you are reading this…HI!!!!!!!! We miss you and we will flick you an email soon to see how the Seal rehabilitation facility in Ireland is going for you and what you've been up to!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so I'll sign off here, and leave the pics to tell the story of our holiday with my mumzarelli, dadzarelli and T'zarelli!
I will post another blog entry very soon covering our trip through Italy and Bavaria with Kai's family over Christmas time and the new year, and then the pics from my work trip at the US and British Virgin Islands.
Sorry to be so sloppy with this entry…I'm afraid the next couple will be the same until I get back up to date with this blog thing.
Anyhoos, generally the pics are way more fun than the story :-D I find they say more than words can anyway :-D
Oh yeah, and big apologies for not getting back to my emails for aaaaaaages!!!!!!!!!!!!! Work has tied me up sooo much that I have just not been able to get near the computer after-hours!!!!!!!! But I Promise I will get to them soon! I have definitely NOT forgotten my buddies back in Oz (and the US, Jillian and Jamie)!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, and one more thing………..HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my gorgeous handsome Man for the 4th!!!!!!!!! (I just had to put that in there to extend the birthday feeling :-D )…I love you babe!!
….and HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY to Jules for the 3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope that yummola dinner was followed by an extra special dessert!! ;-P
Ok, so really signing off this time, Ciao peeps!!!!!!!!
Love, Donzy and Kai!
