Hoi my peeps, guess what....it's summer time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too exciting! The air is warm and smells like holidays! You know that relaxed feeling that the warm summer air brings…when in the evenings, you can sit outside with a cool beverage, in shirt and shorts and feel not too hot and not too cold, until the sun goes down at 10.30pm…people seem to slow their stroll down just to enjoy the warmth, and are all just generally happier….well, that's how it feels just now…relaxed…as of Saturday actually (which was also, coincidentally, the Swiss' first calendar day of summer - 21 June!!!!!!). Yay!
Kai is off in Malaysia at the moment for work until Friday though, so unfortunately I can't enjoy this lovely change in weather with him just yet. Fingers crossed the heat hangs around for the weekend though…coz we are off to Gruyere (where they make Gruyere cheese, surprise surprise :-P) on Friday as soon as he gets back! Yayayayayayay!
Anyhoos, just a quick one this time, as life here has settled in to a repetitive norm (apart from the odd weekends away), and I have nothing new to report. The soccer life here has been nuts, and most nights the city is packed with soccer fans and lines of police making sure everything is in order. They close all the main streets off around the 'fan-zone' and have lined the streets with beer stalls and removable pubs. On the days we have German classes (which is located right next to the fan zone stadium), our finish time of 7pm coincides nicely with the busy 'Fan Zone' hours…so we usually end up having to share a packed tram with soccer fans. And the trip home that would normally take us 10 mins now takes us an hour. Yay! Just for fun :-P ha ha
Yeah, so ummm, not much else to report just yet…we are both alive and well, and are totally looking forward to this weekend. We will add another entry after the trip.
I have also added some random pics from the past week in Zurich. (Coz pics are always more fun than reading long messages :-D).
Take care all, and keep the updates from home (or wherever you may be at the moment) coming!
Love Donzy and Kairo
Schöne Woche! Tschuss!
