Had breakfast at bed and breakfast and our driver, Michael, picked us up for our tour of WWI eastern front cemeteries and memorials. Considering we decided to use drivers on this trip so we wouldn't get so hopelessly lost, it's ironic that:
Michael thought we wanted to go to visit a Jewish cemetery in a small town near Gorlice
He didn't know there were WWI cemeteries around Gorlice
He stopped 4 times during the first half hour of our trip to ask pedestrians for directions.
But, Michael, a recent university graduate who has not yet found a job in his field, was a nice young man, so we stopped at the tourist center in Gorlicei, got maps and brochures, and spent some time searching for cemeteries (there are more than 30 in the region), and visited several small and larger ones.
The cemeteries were really interesting, and we also enjoyed driving through many small towns and villages, all of which had nice homes and well-tended gardens.
We returned to Krakow mid-afternoon and walked around before dinner at another restaurant that serves traditional Polish food. Lee finally tried pork knukles.
