After flying in from Moscow our Indian adventure and Asian experience was upon us; welcome to New Delhi. Getting off the plane at four in the morning, we found out that our luggage was still in Moscow, and we were stuck without even toothpaste. It's hard to complain about the first thing that goes wrong in two months, so with nothing but smiles on our faces, we were picked up and driven to our new home in Noida, New Delhi, met by 3 amazing hosts and a tequila shot breakfast. We can't even explain the lengths to which these people have gone to make us feel at home and everything and more has been provided to us with great hospitality. Our first opportunity to see the city came the next day, walking the streets and embracing the culture. That evening we visited the Akshardham temple; an enormous Hindu monument built for some ancient Yogi. Ignoring jetlag, we started the next morning very early, taking a day trip to Agra to see one of the wonders of the world…the Taj Mahal! One of the true romantic stories of Indian history, Shah Jahan constructed this monument to show his passion, love and devotion to his wife who past on. Arguably, one of the most beautiful structures ever built! We also stopped at a few destinations along the way, such as Akbar's tomb and Agra's Fort. To conclude this fabulous day, we returned to our Indian home and indulged in fabulous Indian cuisine. Our third and final day in New Delhi, we took a day tour to the sites and ruins of this ancient city. An incredible ending to one of the most cultural shocking cities I have ever been too. Tomorrow we head south to Coimbatore… Our luggage has returned and I sure hope the driving is somewhat more sane in the South.
