So today I am feeling much better but still a little weak - I made the decision to hold off on the farm visit and stay put where I was.
Although the farm sounded wonderful, was very cheap and appeared to be authentic the timing was not right. Pai is really a place to relax and to be honest there is not a ton of things to do so I will use it for what it is.
In the morning I went for a nice walk around the rural area and contemplated maybe walking out to the waterfalls tommorow.
In the afternoon I sat by the river and started to read "The Tibetan Art of Positive Thinking" a book I had found in my room.
I met a group of 10 Brits on the river who had paid 200 baht to float down the disease infested river on tubes. It seems that there really is little to do in Pai but the locals get creative and make all kinds of things up to drain every dollar possible from the tourists.
Another strange thing I am noticing is the amount of Harley riders and bikies living in Pai - I swear every second guy has a Harley - showing the wealth that has come to this remote town.
The town is in essence a hippie commune but sadly completely consumeristically orientated, people believe they are part of this hippie movement but sadly the whole meaning behind hippies was lost in the 60s - people now believe by growing their hair long wearing loose fitting raggy clothes and talking about peace and love they are standing up against societies norms.
Luckily I had the room to myself again last night so I watched the new movie Life of Pai and wow amazing story - highly recommended.
