Day 2 Trekking
Today we were up at 7am but to be honest I had not slept at all as the night had been absolutely freezing and I was unable to get warm.
For breakfast we were given scrambled eggs, 3 pieces of toast, butter, jam and coffee. Once again for what we had paid this was quite decent.
It turned out all the other people on the tour had only booked the two day hiking and so we would be walking to the elephant farm where they would stay and we would separate.
After saying goodbye to everyone myself Matt and the guide headed to the waterfall about an hours walk. The walk up was beautiful and although not overly huge the waterfall was quite beautiful. We ate lunch, took some photos and then headed back down the mountain. On the way down our guide cut down trees, collected various fruits and just made the whole experience more of an adventure - he certainly went above and beyond and was already becoming more of a friend then a guide.
Next stop was whitewater rafting and wow amazing, nothing too crazy but certainly exhilarating, action packed and completely draining. There were a few hairy spots but for most part it was just very beautiful and scenic.
Next we headed to the second hill tribe camp which was only a short 1 hour hike away. When we arrived the place was empty so we jumped in the river for a bath. The family came a bit later and there little girl joined us and talked with us for many hours. Her English was incredible and our guide explained how she was picking up and developing her English through all the tourists visiting. Once again we ate an amazing dinner and as there was only two of us there was a ton left over so we gave it to the family to eat. After dinner we sat around the fire and contemplated life and travels again.
