I actually managed to sleep ok and thankfully I had a small bag of oats that did me nicely for breakfast. However there was no power in the hostel in the morning which was a pain so I decided to sleep a bit more before going for a wonder. There is a surf competition on here today which is a Junior Pro so the best junior pro surfers in the world battling it out - I went and watched for about an hour but the wind was too annoying and was getting covered in sand. I had a decent lunch of tinned tuna and avocado and then walked up the hill and caught the first collectivo headed for Talara. Arriving in Talara I walked around for 3 hours trying to find reasonable priced accommodation - unfortunately I had no luck and found myself walking around and round in circles. So at 3:30pm I went to the bus station and caught the first bus headed to Piura: a bigger city just two hours away. At around 5:30pm I arrived and the next two hours I spent walking around trying to find somewhere to stay at a reasonable price. I eventually found a hospedaje for a decent price but very basic and turns out no running water or Internet. I have been to Piura before and last time I was here I found a supermarket that sold whole roast chickens for $3.50, so I dumped my stuff and went in search of the supermarket. I found the supermarket, got my chicken and headed back to my accomodation and watched some sky tv - luckily with a few channels in English.
