New Apartment!! It was tough getting up this morning after such a massive night but we were up early ready for our 10am class. Before going to class we headed to the supermarket and bought some things for the house like toilet paper, oil, salt, coffee and some things for dinner. It was then time for our first dive class which involved a very hot classroom and watching dive instruction films. The power kept going off (which happens constantly here) and in the end we had to resort to the Padi book to answer the comprehension quiz. By 12pm we had to get ready for our boat trip to the Cays (famous part of the island) where a bunch of islands cling together amongst crystal clear blue water. It took ages for the staff to get everyone together for our boat trip but after an hour of running around we were all set. Blue sky's, a dive boat, beers and snorkeling equipment and we were off. The boat trip was short but incredibly scenic giving us a great look at the island and the outer Cays. When we arrived at the cays we headed to a little island which was packed with people, carribean music and lots of families enjoying their Sunday. We anchored the boat and then made our way on to the island, walked around a bit and then headed straight into the water. The water was so warm and the visibility - perfect, we swam, snorkeled and enjoyed every minute of remote Carribean island life. Around 5pm we headed back to Utila and our new friend Chris (who will be joining us in the divecourse) decided also to move in to our apartment. The rest of the afternoon I walked around the tiny town of Utila and picked up a few groceries and chatted with some locals. In the evening we had our first house dinner where Even cooked us all these borrito type things which turned out really nice. Everyone was quite tired and headed to bed early which surely a good idea considering class starts at 7:30am tommorow morning!!
