I woke up to a very wet tent in the morning either from condensation or the heavy rain and wind we had all night - the main thing though I didn't freeze. I had some breakfast of granola and a hot chocolate at 6am then went back to bed. At 9am a guy came around wanting money for the tent site so I started packing my things and boiled some water fresh for my thermos in my tent. I was ready by about 11am and luckily this gave my tent a bit of a chance to dry out. Bag felt even heavier today - it's going to be another long day. The Sun was out and I was able to take my jacket off after 30 minutes. I walked along a beautiful river with the sun and a little drizzle in my face. i came to a big steep hill section and at halfway stopped for hot cup of tea (and they call this hiking). I met two Belgium girls and whilst collecting water discussed tactics for getting rid of all our food tonight and thus lessining the loads in our backpacks. I had lunch in a nice woodland; today's menu - a hot mushroom soup with tuna. I struggled on with lots of stops and snacks, over some fairly dodgy bridges and in the end it turned into another very long day.
The 45 minute sign to camp d*** on was a welcome site. I was cold and tired but blown away by the incredibly beautiful location of the campsite. I setup my tent; this time much quicker, had a warm shower - in a small awkward box shower, charged my iPhone in the refuge and warmed up near their little wood fire. I cooked a huge dinner of pea and potato soup with a bag of tuna - like a rusty stew
I then organized my things and realized I was very very tired. I indulged in another hot chocolate and peanut butter before bed which warmed the belly up a treat.
