Hi Peeps!! Here is the second Journal entry from Down Under………..Apologies for the essay guys……I just can’t seem to keep these small…hehe :-)
From Hervey Bay, we headed south towards Rainbow Beach and Stayed for the night in a hostel called Rainbow Beach Backpackers. Now this hostel had a fab happy hour, it was three hours and it was only $2 for a glass of wine!!! So of course me and Rachie just had to make the most of that…hehe :-). We also met our friends Katy and Tina at Hervey Bay who were also travelling to Rainbow beach, which was cool so we ended up sharing a dorm with them…Yay!! At Rainbow Beach, we also relaxed on the Beach and got some rays. The following morning, me and Rachie went to Tincan Bay to feed the dolphins. Now the Dolphin we fed was called Mystic, ( Not sure of the spelling, but you catch my drift!!) and the dolphin was so cute. I just couldn’t get that good old Mystic song out of my head “All I want..is to be with you”…Come to think of it..where did they go eh?!!!
Anyway, moving on from my reminiscing session….From Rainbow Beach we stopped the night at Noosa. Noosa is a very wealthy seaside resort, hence why me and Rachie only stayed the night…just kidding!!! From Noosa we then headed to Brisbane. From Brisbane we visited Steve Erwin's Zoo. The Zoo was amazing and was really well kept and looked after. We watched the Croc Show which was really good and also feed some Kangeroos. It made my day to actually see a Kangeroo with her 'Joey'. I was like…Yay…It’s me!!! Said I know..hehe :-)
From Brisbane, we headed to Surfers Paradise and relaxed for three days on the Beach, and then from Surfers we headed to Bryon Bay. I loved Bryon Bay, it had a real Hippy vibe to it!! The clothes were so nice….I was like "dam being on a budget"…hehe. At Bryon, we stayed at a really nice hostel called the Art Factory which had a real hippy feel to it. The lounge had cosy cushions and the place was so chilled out...Bliss!!! From Bryon I had a surf lesson with "Mojo "( I know...how cool is that....hehe) Surf School. I really enjoyed the day and managed to get up onto the board quite quickly and actually catch some waves. It was such a great feeling to be surfing again and to have all teeth intact when I finished...Yay!! It was really funny because when the group came in for a break, the instructor told us all not to go in further than waste deep because he's been notified that there could be sharks in the water. Now the group all look at each other and smile because we think it's a joke, and the instructor says..."no guys.... I'm being very serious". Well, being 'indy' I just had to dive back in and give it another go! So we all went out into the water again, obviously making sure we didn't go in to deep....hehe :-)
From Bryon Bay, we made our way down to Sydney. I was soooo excited when we got to Sydney. I just couldn't believe I was actually there!!!
On our first day in Sydney, we went on a walking tour run by our hostel which took us to all the main sights in Sydney; Darling Harbour, China Town, Hyde Park, Paddys' Market, and the Opera House. Our tour guide Stef was really funny and took the mick out of me and Rachie for Bringing our own Pack lunch which consisted of good old Jam Sandwiches!! He was a really good laugh and kept on saying...."I can't believe you've brought your own Lunch!" Well.....every penny counts when your travelling. Hark at me!!!
The next day, we went on another tour run by Stef, and yes we did bring a pack lunch, and yes he did take the Mickey.....hehe!! Only, on this trip he actually gave me and Rachie red bags to carry our packed lunches in.....bless!!! Every time he'd see us he'd say "You know..those are amazing bags!!!"(Referring to the bags he had given us!). The rest of the group found this rather amuzing. I did actually notice though peeps that a few people from the city walk tour did bring pack lunches to this tour, so our pack lunch idea wasn't a bad idea after all....hehe:-)
Anyway, enough about packed lunches. God....I have probably sent most of you to sleep by now!!. The Beach tour took us from Coogee Beach (Really nice Beach, It reminded me of the South of France) and then to Bondi Beach. To be honest, Bondi wasn't really that great and to top things off, as soon as we got to Bondi It rained, so it really felt like being on the Beach back in good old Blighty!! The Bristish weather followed us to Bondi...Yay!!
That night, we met up with Katy and Tina in the Side Bar in our hostel for a "quiet night". Well, as you know peeps, when you declare a night to be a "quite one" you can bet it never is!!! We spent the night dancing around to cheesy tunes ( My kind of night....Yay) and drinking lots of well... I don't really know what we were drinking but we certainly felt a little under the weather the next day...Ooops!!!it was a great night though!
At Sydney, we also climbed the Harbour Bridge. This four hour walk was so worth it, even if I coudn't feel my legs the next day. Where has my fitness gone....Arrrgggghhh!!! The views from the top were amazing, you could see the whole city from the middle of the Bridge. This was the highlight of Sydney for me, It was soooo much fun and well worth it.
From Sydney we also took a bus trip to Palm Beach where they film Home And Away. Well peeps, we saw the Beach, but on an overcast and pretty miserable day.. We Don't seem to have much luck with Sydney Beaches and the weather, but hey we still got a cheesy Picture of us outside of Alf's Surf Shack....It just to be done!! We also took a trip on the Manly ferry to Manly (Surprisingly!!) which was really nice and gave us the opportunity to see the Sydney Harbour from the Water!
Well Guys... that's about it from me for now. I will be writing a Melourne entry soon so Keep your eyes peeled...Yay!!!
Take care all of you
Missing you so much
Lots of love
Joeyxxxx
