Its been a while since I've udated the journal. This is largely due to lack of a decent internet connection in India. I am now in Bangkok, where internet cafes are everywhere. A lot has happened since my last update in Jaipur.

I have visited Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Amritsar. Jodhpur was frankly uninspiring, but Jaisalmer was great. A desert city, which was appropriately very very hot. The amazing thing was that there was little or hardly any hassle. Arriving at the railway station early in the morning it was quite bizarre to see all the Hotel Reps touting for business standing in a neat, straight line; until that is, you notice the policeman standing on one side with a big stick.

I had written a bit more but it appears to have been cut off, so I will try again. Jodhpur, or the blue city was not really my cup of tea. I stayed in the old city itself. But it was hard to walk around without getting lost. The local people did all they could to help, which is something i have noticed all over India. Especially if you try to speak in Hindi, the people will do all they can to assist.
