Am now in Chiang Mai, it's been a hectic few days. I had planned to take the sleeper train from Bangkok but the train was fully booked out for days. So I ended up taking the bus, which was fine. It toook about 10 hours. The early morning in Chiang Mai was pretty chilly, but it was a hassle free trip to the Hostel. Today I have just walked around, plan to be here until the 28th so plenty of time to take it easy.

Well after a few days in Bangkok I was getting restless, I had a choice between going south or going east and i went east. It takes pretty much 12 hours to arrive in Siem Reap from Bangkok. On the way the journey takes in some awesome scenery: for mile after mile, stretching out to the horizon, you can fields of rice, and way in the distance there are mountains. It is hot and humid. Its been a while since I've udated the journal. This is largely due to lack of a decent internet connection in India. I am now in Bangkok, where internet cafes are everywhere. A lot has happened since my last update in Jaipur. I have visited Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Amritsar. Jodhpur was frankly uninspiring, but Jaisalmer was great. Hi I am in Jaipur now. Been in India for almost a week and this is the first day i have had a decent internet connection says it all really. This place is a bit of a mess.
