Last day in Yangshuo, and for May, Kim, Kyle & I, it was a very low key one. Rafael & Bryce decided to venture to the mud baths & hot springs. Bathing suits can be purchased if you forget to bring one. Bryce said it was a neat experience since he floated on the mud. Both came back from their outing very relaxed.
Kim and I wandered around Xi Jie. The restaurants are very aggressive, there is usually a person standing in front with a menu urging you to stay & dine. The street is full of Chinese tourist plus some foreigners. There is a variety of western style restaurants ie. Pizza, the Golden Arches, KFC.
Tonight after supper we decided to see a water show in the Li River. The amphitheater can hold up 2000 spectators & instead of paying 500 RMB each, we decided to pay 50 RMB each to watch the performance across the river, in someone's dark agriculture farm land where we drenched ourselves with insect repellent. People's attention span declined since the view was horrible and the mosquito's were biting. Kyle said, "this is awful, we just threw away 50 RMB, I could have purchased at least 8 Miranda drinks (apple soda pop)".
As we returned to the hotel, we stopped at a little store. Two young Chinese men thought Kim was pretty and tried to start up a conversation. Kim just smiled, and when she left they said a special "good-bye" in English. I of course teased her about this incident.
Tomorrow we head to Guilin to take a flight to Hong Kong - the last leg of our vacation, :(!
