Left St Bees at 8.50, walked down beach to have a little paddle in the Irish Sea and pick up a pebble and then we were off. Lovely cliff walk to start off. Stopped in Cleator for lunch but the pub had closed down and long since disappeared so a slight diversion from our route to a very nice hotel. Back on the path to the top of Dent Fell where we had fabulous views of the Lakeland Hills, Isle of Man and miles of the coastline. Very steep descent then pretty walk up Nannycatch Beck valley and eventually into Ennerdale Bridge. Weather was very kind to us, cloudy most of the day but stayed dry and the sun came out in the evening. A little bit over 14 miles.
