So yesterday I went on a tour to the pentagon, natural history museum, Georgetown sprinkles cupcakes, then dinner in Columbia heights and then a few beers at meridian pint around that area.
The pentagon tour was pretty good, the tour guide walk and talked backwards the whole time for around 2kms worth. Amazing. I don't think I'd be able to do that. Complete spin out. Also more of 'let go right ahead and...'.
It was a real shame that I couldn't take any photos...although I did sneak in a photo of the pentagon sign as I was waiting for the tour to start. Don't arrest me Ben! :)
Afterwards I met up with noms and went to the natural history museum which was awesome. Felt like I was in that movie, night at the museum, except that the animals didn't come to life or talk and T-Rex didn't go and fetch a bone.
Also there was a diamond section with all these sparkley diamonds. So pretty!
Because I didn't get to go to Georgetown cupcakes the other night, I headed back to Georgetown and ended up going to a cupcake joint called sprinkles which is apparently better than Georgetown cupcakes. Blake lively supports this place so it must be good right?....:S
By the end of each day, walking around and being on my feet all day is so tiring I always seem to need a nap to re-energise. Feel like such a nanna. Lol.
For dinner had pho at a place called pho viet in Columbia heights and it's apparently the best pho in DC. I still don't think it compares to the pho in Sydney. Cuz they all use the dried noodle instead of the fresh rice noodle so the noodle is completely different. Also the broth wasn't as flavoursome as we have at home.
You really notice how different the food is here and how great we have it in sydney. Really going to appreciate the food more when I head back home. Defo.
So after dinner we went to this place called the Meridian Pint. So it seems here that all the beers are served in pints instead of schooners or middies. I find it hard to finish a pint without it being a deadie by the end of the drink.
This place was really cool cuz it had a beer tap on the table/booth u were sitting at and you could dispense whenever you wanted. Amazing.
No way would we have that back home cuz people would just go crazy with that and we'd have more pub brawls than we already do now and it'll just get outta control. Aussie's and Brits drink way too much.
I think I've fallen in love with DC. I would definitely want to come back and I could see myself living here.
Met some really great people along the way here and will definitely keep in touch.
I'm off to NYC now! Time for some shopping!!
Bye DC!!
