So NYC is fully of these little quirky cafes in soho/nolita/lower east side.
I went to one that was filled with cute and quirky people with bow ties on collared shirts as staff.
Think Melbourne cafes with all the staff playing their part and in character of the thirties and sydney city skyscrapers mixed together. LOVE-with comment.
I've noticed that in NYC, they have the best panini's I've ever had. Big call I know but this is true. Tony and I had breaky at this cafe called Epistrophy and it was the cutest cafe ever where the panini I had was amazing. Even this other panini I had before at some other random place was amazing to!!
I think what it is, is the fact that New Yorkers know the filling to bread ratio. It's got that perfect crunch on the outside, the bread isn't that thick and the proportions of bread-filling ratio is just right with deli ingredients.
Soho shopping is the place to be. I mean you're not gonna get those bargains but having all the stores in one area at ur disposal is pretty awesome.
Williamsburg has this little flea market which is pretty cool. They sell all these vintage clothes and accessories as well as artwork, notebooks and little knick knacks. Defo worth a visit if you are headed to NYC.
Also right by the flea market is a view of the east river which is really nice. You get a good view of manhattan island on the east side.
One thing I have noticed about NYC is that there are dogs everywhere! But where do they keep them? Everyone lives in apartments here and the apartments tend to be quite small. I guess the mentality may be different here as us Aussies have more land and believe that dogs need a backyard to run around in. Also I think the dogs themselves are city dogs so they understand that the apartment is an apartment, if that makes any sense.
