Josie's Giant Adventure
Hello
Why is there a picture of a sand boarder for my postcards of Bolivia you may ask. The answer is that there aren't any pictures of Bolivia to choose from so I've chosen the only picture you can choose that isn't of another country.
Anyway, here we are in Copacabana in Bolivia.
We waved goodbye to Cuzco with its lovely restaurants, tat sellers and many gay bars (well, turns out the gay flag is the Cuzco flag the other way up, so there weren't actually any gay bars) and headed to Puno.
We spent less than 24 hours there and headed straight for Bolivia. Puno seemed crowded and not particularly welcoming, and there wasn't a lot to do. We had a walk through an interesting market where you could buy live rabbits and guinnea pigs (I'm presuming not to keep as pets), sat at the port looking at the lake and had an amusing trip on a tuk tuk type thing that was probably no quicker than walking but was less effort for us.
We got a bus to Copacabana this morning that was supposed to be a coach with TV and toilet but turned out to be a bit of a dodgy minibus, but it delivered us very quickly to Copacabana with some lovely views of Lake Titicaca on the way.
We've found a really good hostel that would have hot water if it wasn't for the power cut that lasted all day until about half an hour ago.
Haven't seen much of the town yet as I spent all day in bed getting over a flu/cold like illness. I now feel much better and am off to sample the trout from the lake, hopefully.
Better go, there is a queue of angy looking travellers waiting to use the internet in the only internet cafe in the town I think and I've been on for a while.
