Goodbye Netherlands, Bonjour/Hi/Gutentag Belgium! Stupid Belgium with too many languages!
We left the Netherlands and drove about 45 minutes before we were in Belgium. We nearly missed it. They don't make a big deal of it at all. Just one solitary sign saying Belgie. The roads aren't as good though. I quickly noticed that. I'd expressed to Becci already how smooth Hollands roads are and how I think Lynn was built for that type of drive. Belgium's a little courser and not as comfortable to drive through. We got some diesel on the way in at €1.369 per litre, which is cheaper than anywhere we found in netherlands, which was still cheap compared to the uk. We didn't have to go far before we were at our first stop. BK had spotted another corker in the book. A Camperstop right in front of the canal. Unfortunately, a lot of other people had thought the same and there weren't any spaces left. There was an office car park near by that seemed to be takin the overflow so we pulled up in there amongst 7 or 8 other big Winnebagos, and an amazing full size converted orange and beige, 70s bus. It was massive and super retro. Lynn looked like a Mini Cooper in comparison.
We walked in to town, but it was quiet as it was about 5pm by this point. Back at Lynn we made some dinner, but ate sat in the van. the office car park wasn't really as glamorous as the marina the night before (nor were there any toilets here), but it WAS free, so I'm certainly not complaining. in the morning we felt a little conspicuous weeing in the bushes, like we had done the night before so it was an early start to move on, and find a toilet in the process. We struggled to find a place at first, but managed to find a newsagents named "crak and smak" which we thought was funny. we ended up pulling up at the trainstation but the loo was locked. we asked the station master if we could use it and he gave us the key. Thankfully, they were clean. and once the important business was taken care of, we were back on the road and heading to our next stop.
