Panama Canal..... Yeah! Old town walkabout.
The Panama Canal was one of those things that I saw on TV many years ago and always knew I would see it with my own I someday...... Today was that day!!!
I ended up sharing a cab there which was great with three American guys. These guys had quit their jobs and were traveling for a month or so hitting four different continents flying everywhere...... Spending so much time in airports and traveling taking no time for culture I just couldn't understand it??? Whatever....
There was a hilarious 3-D movie, and a really cool museum which was good because when I got there I had just missed two ships going through the canal. So I had some time to kill and I actually walked through the museum twice, then went up to the top observation deck waiting for the ship due in an hour!
There was a woman standing beside me with the same wristband from Lunas Castle,Mareike, from England. I started talking to her and told her I had been at the Canal for around six or seven hours saving her a spot.... Haha. So the couple hours I stood there with her we got to see two giant cargo ships go through and some small sailboats starting to go through when they kicked us out. We shared a taxi back to the hostel and walked around the old town for a few hours. We went out for a few drinks and tonight was the night of the lunar eclipse which was really cool.
