I have just come back from dinner and I wanted to share something quickly.
Every lunch and dinner, the hotel we have been staying at has been making our meals. Each meal is at least three courses - bread, pasta, main and dessert, sometimes more. Needless to say, I have never eaten so well in my life (sorry Ma, but its a hell of a lot of food)
Tonight I havent been able to finish my pasta, but it was really tasty. So I thought I would chance a conversation with the waiter and see if I could get the pasta to take away.
He looked at me blankly, but another guest chimed in and said something about a box. Thats all I got from the conversation. He looked at me puzzled, sort of like he couldnt understand why I didnt just eat it all now, why did I want to take it away? So he took my plate and that was that.
We all figured that I wouldnt see the plate again as the conversation had all been lost in translation. To my surprise, as I was leaving, the waiter came up to me with a large paper bag with handles, inside it was the pasta safely wrapped up, a couple of pieces of bread, a napkin and come cultery. All put together just for me.
This is what I hope is coming across in my blog? These gorgeous people are so caring and considerate, its really heart warming. They genuinely want you to be taken care of and be happy, I have found this to be the case almost everywhere. I guess they practice what they preach, la dolce vita! I laughed and gave him a hug, grazie bello!

Betty Saunders Jordan, you are so making me homesick for Italy again. Your photos are wonderful as well as your descriptions of what you are doing and experiencing. I told you the people in Italy are wonderful, especially the Italian Waiters. I gave up on trying to explain where Adelaide was and always agreed that I came fro Sydney in the end. Keep laughing Jordan and enjoy every minute - holidays are over all to soon. Cheers
vicki randell Jordy, you always attract good people 'cos you're so friendly and polite yourself. Loving the blog, hugs, Vicki xxx
