Writing this on the first crap day of weather we have had since i can remember being away. Not as if we didn't expect it from New Zealand though. We have been here since the 5th i think, so have had a good week so far....and we have crammed a heck of alot in. The first day we spent in Auckland, walking around looking at the harbour. I played golf in a driving range which was one of these inner city ones. You would hit the ball into a screen and it would tell you how far and where the ball goes etc. It was good but a bit boring after a while. Auckland was nice, the harbour amazing, but I think in order to enjoy it you have to have alot of money, not on a travellers budget like me. The weather was boiling though, the sun is so strong here. I forgot to say that Morwenna met us at the airport in Auckland which was nice, she has brought a bit of freshness to the group and also reminded us how lucky we are not to be working at home! Not to rub it in.lol. The airline left my bags in Sydney, which was a bit of a pain but luckily they got the bags to me before i wanted to leave. About 5 hours before.lol. We got on the Magic bus to leave for Rotarua, on our way stopping at waitamo and doing 'black water rafting'. It was so fun, in caves about 40 ft below the ground, in wetsuits, floating down a gently running stream. The tunnel was lit up by glow worms in the ceiling. It was so amazing. In Rota Rua, which was a bit of a quiet town, I white water rafted the next day. It was a grade 5, a bit scary, and I rafted down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. It was 7 metres but to be honest, it wasnt as bad as i thought but then lookig back at it I was thinking s*** i'm not doing that again.lol. We left the next day for Taupo, where we intended to do our sky dive. The day we left was perfect weather though and our bus driver offered to book us on it for that day. Due to the unpredictable weather we decided to go for it and before we knew it we were 15000 ft up in the air, about to jump off a plane. It was the best experience i have ever had in my life. It was so fun. I got a DVD made so you may get to see it if you want.lol. We have had more days in New Zealand but I dont wanna make the entry too long and the other days were not anywhere near as interesting. They mainly involved wondering round town, looking at the amazing landscape. However, I will go back on what I just wrote and tell you that in Rotarua, the earths crust is at its thinnest anywhere in the world. There is loads of thermal activity, steam coming up from the ground, hot water pools, boiling mud, its amazing. Our pool in one hostel was from hot water in the earth and it was amazing. Almost too hot to be in. Apart from that not much else to write, it was Sara's birthday on the 10th, we went out but Sara felt too ill, she has had a really bad sore throat, so me and Morwenna decided we would enjoy it for her.lol.
Love to everyone.xxxxxxx
