Hi guys. I didn't realise it had been so long since I wrote an entry, I think because now it is easy to put pictures up I do that instead and forget about the writing. Last time I wrote I was in Wellington, which is where you catch the ferry over to Picton, South Island. The ferry ride over was cool, except we had to get it straight after a heavy night so let me put that again "apparently the scenery was amazing', we were too busy sleeping our hangovers off.lol. Our first stop off place was Nelson, where we stayed in Paradiso. It was a really nice place, a smallish town which had everything you need, a really nice hostel with really cool people and that combined with our need for a rest meant we stopped there for quite a few nights. The most memorable day there was when it was Paddy's day. It was an awesome day, drinking guinness and pretending to be Irish, me at least. I managed to pull it off with some people quite well. Even Irish people believed me. I had a bit of help though, an irish guy said to pretend ur from leash, apparently no one has ever met anyone from there.
Anyway enough of the boring stuff, after that we went to Greymouth for one night, which was a s*** city but had a nice hostel. To be honest, i cant remember much from that period.lol. After that though we went to Franz Josef, which was amazing. It had been one of the places in New Zealand which I was looking forward to. We decided to do the full day trek up, which I am so glad we did because we spoke to loads of people who did the half day one and they said it was not worth the moeny. We worked our way through crevaces and snow caves, our leader carving steps for us all the way up. It was awesome. the view form the top was immense. In fact our whole time at Franz Josef was awesome, the town is tiny, not much there but we met some lads from Surrey I think and they were wicked.
Since then we have simply come to Queenstwon which is where we are now. It is so nice we have gone from staying 3 nights to 5 or 6, something like that. Everyone stays here ages and we are really lucky to be in a dorm with some quality people. I played my first game of golf in 5 months the other day. It was a terrible score but funny playing with an American, they really do take it as seriously as you think. Another first for me was playing ice hockey. There is a local team here and me and some guys went down and had a game. I have only skated once before and you can imagine how i was with a stick and a puck.lol.
Anyway, sorry it is so brief but I can't really remember much.lol. take it easy everyone.xxxx
