Hi there, well i am back from sailing the whitsunday islands and still in one peice. Had great time on the boat. We left and sialed out to whitehave beach. The sailing was realy good. The boat went right over on its side as we powered through. The beach was realy lovely except for the bit of rain that we got. Just spent couple of hours chilling out then back on the boat again. Went and had a snorkel over the reaf spotting the fish and coral again. a good feed and we were done and bedding down for the night. sleeping in the cabin of the boat on a hammock thing was interesting. the next day we sailed out again and headed for some more snorkeling and beach spots. We got to a realy nice beach which was more like a long strip of sand that connected two islands together. We were the only people on it and we watched the sunset while scoffing nachoes. Bliss! We then got back to the boat and were informed that the motor had brocken and therefore we couldnt start the engine to sail us away from the beach. the option was to anchor down at the place we where and then try to sail out in the morning under the force of the wind. It was a bit of an exposed spot so we got a bit bashed by the wind. Again another interesting sleep. Another boat came to help in the morning, well when i say boat a jet powered dingy. We had one on one side of the boat and one on the other trying to point us off in the right dirrection as we lifted the sails otherwise we would have smashed right into the beach. That was interesting. I take my hat of to the crew though, did a good job. Seamed a bit manick but i am sure they knew what they were doning. Sails up and we were away. the next question was how do we dock the boat without the engine. If we sailed it right through we would have probably taken out most of the other boats in the harbour and also plowed straight though the dock. Another couple of jet powered dingies attached to the sides of the boat and we creeped our way in. Again another smashing bit of sailing as we gently pulled in the dock. It realy was a good sail and the fact that we had a busted engine probably made it more exciting. I did however drop my sunglasses in the sea as i was walking off so i am now down a pair of sunnies. The other day I also left my hat behind. Usless, and very anoying.
I am now at airlee beach and the weather has turned to custered. Its shall we say a bit wet. I suppose we are in a rainforest area so rain does go hand in hand with that. unfortunatly this is just a beach town so when you cant chill by the beach due to the rain its a bit poo.
Think I am heading down tommorow so will update in near future. love lots xxx
