From Cordoba we got the fanciest bus ever to Mendoza, it was a 13 hour overnight bus, but it was amazing. The seats go completely flat, they are called cama or bed seats. You get you own personal TV with on demand latest movies. They serve dinner, wine and breakfast. It was better than most of the hostels we've been staying at! We were both so excited taking pictures of each other laying down, ordering glasses of wine, and generally giggling like school children. No one else on the bus was acting anything like that, they did not care at all about the fact that the bus had internet!
Mendoza is another fairly big city, 1m people, but doesn't feel that big. The city was levelled by an earthquake many years ago, and they rebuilt it with very wide streets and huge squares everywhere so if it happened again there was plenty of space to get away from falling buildings. The result is that you don't feel like you're in the middle of a city, all the streets are lined with trees, and the squares and parks break up the concrete frequently, it's quite pretty.
Mendoza is another huge wine region making 70% of Argentina's wine, so you guessed it, we went on another wine tour organised by our hostel. Followed by another awesome BBQ at the hostel with heaps of the most amazing tasting meat and wine (more than we could eat or drink in 2 or 3 nights). It's going to be hard to leave this country!
From here we head to Bariloche on another overnight bus, this will be the longest yet at 18 hours (but we booked the fancy bed seats again!!).
