Saturday... I pretty much did nothing it was great :) I messed about with some web design, and read and slept. We went to the cateen for tea and that was about the most excitment I got.
Sunday morning I got a phonecall from Peter asking if we would like to look at our apartments. We'd been told by Lisa on Friday that it would be another 3-5 days until we could move in which had dissapointed us a lot.
Because Peter had confused me, and I'd had a text from Grace asking what I was doing that day, we met up with her and went to see Peter and the apartments.
They were really nice, but not finished and Peter dropped the bombshell that they wouldn't be ready for another week. This was starting to get on my nerves, so I pointed out that we could live in them quiet easily and let people carry out the work that needed finishing, and we didn't have any way of cooking in the small apartments anyway, and Richard didn't have a computer.
After Grace and Peter has some discussions, it was decided that we could move in that day! It was a big turn around and me and Rich were very happy :)
First Peter took us out for a meal at another restaurant that was hiding near campus, it was very pleasant and the food was lovely.
After we finished our meal, Grace came back to the old apartments and waited for me to pack before helping me to carry some stuff over to the new apartments, We did a few between the three of us, and by then it was quite late, and very warm. I left Grace, Peter and Rich to sort themselves out and went to have shower in my nice new home :)
Once I wass clean, me and Rich went to the shop and canteen for food, then I finally sat down to do my lesson plan for the following day!
I ended up having a pretty late night yesterday after I finished my lesson plan I unpacke my clothes so I would be able to find something to wear for class.
This morning I woke up EARLY. I can tell these 8am Monday classes are going to get on my nerves! My class went ok, in the break some students spoke to me and explained that all the grammar sections were too easy, and they just needed practice with actually communicating, so I'm going to start to try and adapt my lessons.
After class I went to the shop and bought a mat for yoga and some other bits and pieces before going back to the apartment.
I've had a very producive day, when I got in I set up a weekly schedule which will hopefullly mean I will get all my lesson plans done in the week and leave me my evenings and weekends free. I then did a spring clean of the apartment and got some lunch from the noodle lady. The noodle lady is lovely but she keeps trying to talk at me in mandarin. I did recognise one word though, laoshi = teacher. I responded excitedly with "Laoshi! Yes!", I think she must think I'm crazy :)
After lunch I typed up some lesson plans, until I had a powercut (thank you autosave!!). During the powercut I decided to try and do some yoga from my laptop which went quite well.
When the power came back on, Peter turned up with some work men. They were all shouting at each other in Chinese so I hid in my study room. I heard Richard turn up and shouted hi, then he took Peter up to his room to check on something, and everyone dissappeared! I'm not sure what happened...
A bit later on Richard came down to have a chat. He said he'd been talking to Peter and there seemed to be some disagreement about how much work should be done on our apartments, and Peter's boss thought we should have to pay rent! This definitely wasn't in our contract so Richard warned me to watch what I'm signing in the future...
When Rich went back upstairs I made myself some cheese and crackers for tea, mmmm!!!
