This is our last day in what we used to call "home". Tomorrow morning we start our move to Fernley, NV and Amazon.com. Amazon hires campers to do their seasonal work and will pay for our RV park while we are there. That will take us thru December 23 when we have to decide which direction we will be headed. Amazon HR called yesterday to make sure we were on track to start the 7th of September and verify our shift and job preferences. Sounds odd, but Judy and I are looking forward to the next phase of our life. Retirement is fun, boring and expensive, all at the same time. Amazon will also mean meeting many new friends. It's 4 PM and we are almost ready to go. Just think, when you are living on the road, ready to go means everything must be ready to go, including your house. This the first time I have washed and waxed Big Vin (yes, our motor home has a name! I 'll explain later.) and it took 4 days plus 2 days to recuperate. While I tackled the house, Judy had a 4 page list she was whittling down. We still have a few thigs to clean up but all in all we are ready to go. It was good seeing Bill and his Ellen this week since we will not see him for three or more months unless he comes down to Reno to visit. It's going to be hard for Judy to say goodbye to her little boy.
Said our goodbyes to the kids over pupu's and cocktails at Appleby's which is the swankiest thing we got going around here. Tomorrow is comming fast and we need to drive about 5 hours so it's off to see the wizard.
