So, we are on day 2 in the big delhi experience! Blimey o'reilly delhi is a big, busy, loud and colourful city and there's a fair old bit to see and do. We spent our first full day (yesterday) doing some pretty ususal touristy stuff, Humayun's tomb (not very old according to John but then again he's a medieval historian), the bahai temple (even less old but pretty like a lotus flower from the outside) and some 'government' market place which tried to sell us all manner of table coverings and bedspreads etc. We've already eaten the cheapest meal possible in a fantastic place just 5 minutes walk from our b&b, serving south indian thalis and bottles of coke - it cost us less than four quid for the two of us - what a bargain! And it did rival tooting..... shock horror!
We're leaving tomorrow to get to Mcleod Ganj, up in the himalayas, to get spriritual as John says. Will try to get some of our own pictures up at some point rather than using these slightly misleading library photos. We've not seen any elephants in delhi though apparently there are loads of them... I think you're all just lying!
Till next time,
xx
