Hey guys,
so after Buenos Aires we headed North to the mighty Iguazu Falls! we had obviously seen the pictures before we set off from home, and it was the one pojnt that i was really excited about seeing! so we headed off with big expectations, the only down side was again that there was a 20 hour bus journey!
However, we managed to survive the bordom and general discomfort and arrived at our hostel. it was a really cool place, with a really cool bar and swimming pool that was surrounded by jungle vegetation. the people were really nice there as well. the first thing we did however was hunt oiut food as we were both starving! so we both had half a cow burger! it was a rare steak between two bits of bread! awesome!
in the morning we found the breakfast to be awesome as well, a continental style that was really filling and fresh from the local bakery! after stuffing our faces, we went to the falls!
the falls lie within a national park, and when you entyer the main gste you are handed a map that has 5 trails that can be walked. the best one we did however was a jungle trek that you did on your own. we were a little worried as there were many signs saying "these animals can be deadly", and then we saw a spider the size of my palm! we also saw wild toucans, wild jay birds, coatie´s ( a racoon with an ant eater nose) and lots of other wildlife! at the end of the trek though however thre was a ´small´waterfall (100 ft high) and a private lagoon! when we arrived we were the only people there and had the place to ourself!
the other walks around the park are based around the main falls, and the view is unbelieveable! at the devils throat, the main part of the watergfall, there is a 96 metre drop 2 km wide water fall! incredible!
the actual waterfall spreads over 4km, so the rest of the walks were based around different points of the falls. all of which offered spectacular views! however, due to the fact that we are in patagonia and the computer is a bit rubbish, we cannot upload our pics yet! however, when we do it will contain pics of penguins, seals, maybe orca´s and the amazing scenery of Penisular Valdes!
hope all is well at home, Happy Easter!
