Hello again!
After being absent for a few weeks I finally found a time and place to update my blog!
The last days in Melbourne were really hard cause i had problems with my credit cards, which ment
that I had to borrow money from my very nice host Jo; who just left me a wonderful reference on my Couchsurfing profile!
Anyway, I took a typical australian train to Sydney: slow, sloow, slooower...are the only words that come to my minde cause the whole journey lasted about 1 day. However, the landscape was marvelous and for the first time I saw a Kangeru in Aussie-land. Before, heading to Sydney I had to find accomondation which is nearly impossible at that time of the year. Somehow there was a 64 year old Gay couple coming up on Couchsurfing and the offered me their couch @ coogee beach, which is one of the nicest areas in pretty Sydney. In terms of people like me- who are traveling on a shoestring, a hit like this is like winning the lottery!
After spending the first night in a Hostel I grabbed my things and made my way to their flat. Although I didn't know what was expecting me there, cause to be honest I've never had the honour to get to know to gays before; I quickly found out that this is going to be great! So all in a Nutshell; Nice food, great time at the(nudist) beaches, Sydney Festival, high value and free Sightseeing tours allday, interesting lessons about gay people, and a lift to Wyong... and that's only a tiny overview of all the things we did. I can truly say that I've found new friends, although we've only had 4 days together.
Sydney is a great and impressive City the harbour is fenomenal and It's a MUST for every traveler.
On the first day we took the ferrie across the harbour to Manly. As a mattter of fact It's a shame that I couldn't keep the feeling that I had when I first saw the opera house and the harbour bridge.
Finally I had to say goddbye to Sydney cause there was/is still a huge distnace to travel till Cairns and anyway I was looking forward to get out of the big cities and see another part of Down Under!
So the next stop was Byron bay or more exactly for Couchsurfing reasons I had to go to Lismore !
