goodbye Singapore hello Melbourne ...!
was my motto on the 24th of December and although i had a good time in Sp i was looking forward to experience something totally new namely mysterious down under.
So i went to the airport strongwilled and full of energy but when i got to the counter my world was quickly turned upsidedown. As a matter of fact you need a visa in Au and i was really sure i had one. Anyway it was all a bit complicated as i had one but it was not accepted by the kangaroo;-)...after all i had to buy a new one.
However, this was not the only shock concerning this country cause when i got on a bus to go to my hosts house i had to find out that it costs just as much as my journey to Kuala Lumpur.
My host though is a really nice and friendly person which is very important cause you have to spend most of the following days with him. In fact he invited me for a Christmas meal at his parents house although we knew each other only for roughly 10minutes. I was very grateful for that and i cant even describe how it felt to haveproper foodafter 12days in Asia...
His parents were soo open and nice I've never met people like this maybe this is due to the fact that the whole family, each of the were bagpackers as well.
Finally when the day came to an end i had a wonderful meal a nice present and loads of drinks. And this wasn't even enough so we, Gerald and i went for a swim although a storm was rushing over Melbourne.
The next days were rather calme compared to that and i enjoyed the wonderful flair of st. Kilda.
It was very nice to see penguins and beautiful birds in free nature. I'm looking forward to the next days!
As my Couchsurf in midlle parc was over I had to go to Hughesdale to a really friendly and generous woman called Jo!
When I got there, I could not believe my eyes! I had my own bungalow in the backgarden in the middle of all the animals!
In addition, Jo invited me for a bike ride to show me around in Melbourne. At that point I did not know that, she is the queen of bikeriding and that we would go up and down for 40 k's! However, it was a lovely day and I've seen so many things in 3 hours!
Moving on now, I was desperate to go on The GOR= Great Ocean Road. After searching on Cs- unsuccsessfully ; i finally found an India guy who's name is Ramesch on gumtree.com.au ! I'd all looked nice but then there was the rub!
I had to go to the other side of the City to moonee pond station which takes about 3 h and moreover they wanted to do it on the 1st of Jan ! In fact, I had a really good NYE party at Jo's sons which was simply massive! By the way, before I got to his house I went lost and walked around for ages till I finally got there shortly before midnight! Back to GOR...
I finally got there just in time they were already about to leave but I couldnet't get there earlier because of the public transport.
The day in fact, was extremly hard cause I was so tired but once we got to the 12 Apostles I knew immediately that it was woth all of the effort and struggle. The other guys in the car were Asian and and they seemd very nice at first but when it came to pay for the patrol they showed a totally different face which shocked me. However, the nice indian guy droppped me at home and I asked him to cook for me and Jo the other day. One day later he served a beautiful curry for Jo,me and the 2 french girls who were staying with Jo and we had a nice night! Next aim Sidney!!!
