So this morning Emma and I decided to head off to Zakopane for a few days. We paid for the room we had occupied for the previous nine nights and the receptionist undercharged us by 200 zloty (about £36)! So, that started the day off on a rich, high note! We then made our way to the bus station. We had a short three minute wait before leaving. Halfway through the journey, and out of nowhere, it started snowing heavily! Within minutes we realised that it was in excess of three feet deep in snow, and the scenery was somewhat magical. With snow topped roofs and white trees and fields for as far as the eye could see!
Upon arrival to our chilly, yet beautiful destination, we were greeted by the locals looking for business by renting out rooms to tourists, we declined and I forgot my jacket on the coach, only realising when I couldn't work out why I was so cold. A brief chase And I soon had it back.
We then made our way to our accomodation, before heading into town for lunch, and to hunt for cheaper accomodation for the remainder of our visit- which we Did for 55zloty per night! (£11) that's for the room not pp!
During the walk back to the room, we were confronted by a man holding an extremely cute, extremely cold white puppy that was shivering in the cold air. Emma begged me to let us take it, but when the man chatted on in polish and we had no idea what he was saying, we had to decline.
Do widzenia for now!
Joe, and Emma.
