Hey everyone;

So the first two days of my time at The Community Place have been so much more than I imagined.

Day 1: I was with the older girls; aged from about 12-13, fondly known as the fashionistas. We made chocolate fudge; one ingredient was Marshmallow Fluff which definitly needs to be brought to England! An important ethos is 'Fun with a Purpose' so we were looking at how to use equipment and follow set recipes (even though one group went completely off it!). Then the afternoon we set off to the driving range where they all had a golf lesson (including me; I can now actually hit a golf ball).

Day 2: Today I was with Kids Adventure; this is a class of 4-5 year olds who are very very cute. It was rainly today which meant we couldn't go to the park; so we played all day and watched madagascar. This afternoon they had nap time for about an hour and half; which I thought was really good! It was very hot and I think they all needed that time out; plus some were exhausted even when they arrived.

The children are all provided with a hot dinner and snacks in the afternoon; for some this might be the only proper food they get and others are more fortunate. They all seem aware of theirs and others situations; but it is never used as an excuse for certain behaviour or attitude - i suppose as it is seen more as the norm.

I am really tired! Today at nap time; i could happily have had an hours rest myself! Tonight is our only night off this week (which is fab; dont get me wrong!) so we are all planning on an early night and a blog catch up.

The Nev's - I left that phone message the day I got here - I keep trying to ring but the phones here seem to have completely gone on strike. But i'm safe and having an amazing time and will keep trying the phones! I want to know about Canada details!! (I was at Lake Ontario last night; which is half USA half Canada).

I feel like i've been really brief and I have so much to tell about my time here! Can't wait to speak to you all properly!
