Well they say no news is good news. He he! It's been a while I know. Has been lovely to hear from you all though. I've been non stop with work and the rest that I haven't updated in a while. Work about 45 hours a week that I'm always out or too tired to update. Sorry guys will try harder. Its hard work I tell you, such is life!
Well what's been happening. Well I came to Adelaide just planning on spending a few day here then moving onto to see Ayers Rock and Darwin etc. I had heard that Adelaide sucks and that there is not much to do here. Well those people don't know what they are missing I tell you! You really need to spend more than a few days here to appreciate it. I really like it. Out of all the places I've been in Australia so far, this is one I could really settle in. Well that's if I decide to emigrate. The thought has crossed my mind a few times, but just now I don't know, don't think it has gripped me enough yet to pack my bags and move to a country so far away with the most deadliest animals on the planet! Why would you, I ask, loads do! The Sun yes, that big orange thing in the sky, which I've grown to love. Today was 28 degrees here. Natasha and I were so funny we were saying today was a cold day, daft eh! We have just got used to the tempertures being in the 40's.
Anyway I'm drifting! Where was I. Yes Adelaide that's right! Think I like it because at times reminds me of Glasgow a bit. The city centre where the shops are does. Also I learned that no matter where you are in the world its not the place that does it for you, it's the people you meet. Of course if the place is nice that's a bonus but its the people that make it extra special.Have had lots of fun here, good night life and we have been doing plenty of exercise. We hire a bike every week. Last week we cycled 28 KM.
Have manged to get myself a job in one of the best hostels ever! It's fab! Is quite a small hostel which is good though cos everyone knows everyone and is more like a family. Is quite a good deal, free accommodation, $10 an hr about 6 pounds, free BBQ every Wednesday night which is fab, free pizza Friday night, free laundry, free touurs and free internet. Not bad eh! Think I've landed very lucky. Is hard work though do split shifts most days sometimes starting at 5.30 in the morning then having 2 hours off and back till 11 pm at night. Is good but sometimes you get frustrated as you feel you have no life, usually there's good crack at work that helps you get by. Just with living and working here can at times get to you. Hey and I live in the store cupboard, and I'm not joking Jo and I have a bunk bed in the store cupboard pretty cpool thiugh we have our own space with a TV in our room, hifi and video, not bad and staff are really good at noot disturbing us when we are asleep. There's a curtain seperating us from stock. There's always lots of fun in betwween shifts and after work. Have beeen a bit of a party animal going out until 6 am in the morning then straight to work then sleeping all day.Has to be done. Have made some great friends here, people I will definetley keep in touch with . Natasha and Sim are still here that I was on Road trip with. I love them to bits. We were sad to see our German friend Tobi go, he was such a cool guy so funny. Thinking about him makes me laugh. Sim and Nat both have jobs too cleaning a hotel. Was pretty easy to get a jopb here in Adelaide which was a relief Melbourne was a total nightmare. Really got you down walking for days upon days looking for a job to hear nothing. Big GRRR!
Well what have I been up to apart from work, nothing much apart from nights out. We have had plenty of them. Is much cheaper here to drink too than Melbouurne and Sydney. We worship the Church on a Friday night. 90c a beer, glass of wine or champers 9 - 10 pm. Is great you drink as much as you can to save you money for later. Is like an old church hence the name with lots of cheesy tunes and dancers. A bit studenty but I like! Also had a massive night with free tickets that I got given to Ministryof Sound at a club. Was fantastic. Loads of different rooms to explore from hardcore dance music to R and B. Danced the night away also had a few Yager Bombs.Very popular drink over here to get you drunk. Red bull with a shot of yagermisster dropped in it. They are lush taste like medicine. We like! Don't do very often though just now and again. Adds to the party!
Next Week I am going a tour to Kangaroo Island, Is meant to be good, you get to see lots of wildlife, sandboard, and sleep under the stars. My treat for working hard. Fantastic, we like! Usually very expensive to go there was going to miss it out so glad I got this job, can't wait. Feels like I am going on holiday!
Today I have not been well, hey Lisa that was strange you text me last night saying you were ill and I also in bed dying of cold. My throat was in agony. Couldn't talk this morning felt so ill and had to go to work not fair. The things you need to do. Been good to me though given me tomorrow off. Lisa hope you feeling better. Is not nice.
