Joanne's latest adventures!
Hey I'm in India. Yeah Mum, Dad and everyone. I've arrived and am safe.
Oh my god! I just keep thinking. You cannot prepare yourself for this at all. What a total culture shock. I think I had a pretty good idea but yeah oh my god! A wee man picked me up from Airport and took me to Hotel, by this point had also met a few people and \excahnged email addresses. Me and this guy Andy arranged to meet up at six for dinner and a nosey around staying near my hotel.
Well you thot my drving was bad! Well i tell you I'm an excellent driver compared to these people. Total chaos and frightening at times, cars, rickshaws, cows and humans all trying to squash onto road no organiosation whatsoever just horn blowing. Thot we were going to hit a rickshaw or a cow a few times.
Hotel, well what can IO say. This is meant to be a nice one. I'm now preparing myself for what is a bad one!! Very small room, dirty bedsheets and a bucket with a jug as my shower. Indiab the jkoys! My home for the next month.
But hey after being out and aboput tonight, being pretty scared at times with the constant indians coming up to you some just wanting to talk english others tring to con you or sell and the chaos and smell and cows just walking aloong the street. A very different world.
Been a great experience though bumped into andy was so slad at that point was thinking of going back to hotel and locking myself in room. We had a wander around, beenm aannoiyed by a number of indians but also spoke to some really nce ones and went for a lovely meakl on a roof top away from the chaos below. We both had a curry. Very nice1 Tasted lovely. Well it's been an experience but had a really good day. Meeting with andy tomorrow we are doing Delhi together. He's from Bath taking two months off work, 38 and yeajh he has a girlfriend before anyone asks.
Well must go, going to tackle 5the chaos again and try to find my hotel before it gets dark. Miss you all, I'll take care, i promise XXXX
