Today we met our guide- sunny is his name, he's sweet and smiley. There are 10 people in our group, 7 girls and 3 boys then 2 are joining us tomorrow from austrailia. Everyone is really nice and we have bonded well. Yesterday we went to the weekend market in nagkok, it sold everything including eels, fish (alive ones squirming about in buckets), toads (one of which escaped and hoppped off which im glad about cos they are a delicacy in thailand), it was quite disturbing seeing all the animals, there were turtles as well i wanted to take one and call him jim. All the fruit and veg and meats you could imagine under one roof and the hustle and bustle of the familys getting their weekly shop- such an experience, women are chopping up and gutting eels and fish without a care in the world- cant imagine many girls doing that on a sunday morning in england! they were laughing at us squeeling at the live fish! After this we walked to the river and fed the fish- loads of carp came to the service for the bread near the bridge, dad you would have liked this! Last night we went to the train station to take an over night train to chang mai. The train was cool, we had to slreep in bunk beds and stayed up late playing cards and alking, it was quite a bumpy ride and you could see the tracks inbetween carriages which was scary but had a good nights sleep on the bottom bunk, was in a carriage with 40 other people it was a bit like a prison but a bit like a ginat sleepover! topday we have arrived in chang mai and i will tell you more about this later. just going to a temple and then going to watch the sunrise in the mountains. missing andrew!! and everyone! xxxxx
