Easter Island was amazing. Probably the most exciting place we have been to so far. The island itself was really small, you could see the whole thing as you flew in and you could drive from one side to the other in about 30 mins. We were only there for 4 days but we could of stayed there for much longer. The beaches (although there were not too many beaches) had white sand and the sea was so blue and clear.
On the first day we had the afternoon free so decided to hire a car and explore. We hired a mini jeep (I was so excited and have decided this is definately a car that I would like to have) and drove across the whole island stopping at any beaches we saw along the way. No matter where you are on the island you can normally always see the sea. Our 2nd and 3rd days were taken up mostly but our tour - was so interesting to learn about the history. The heads (Moai) are so weird to see. They are quite big in size and made of volcanic rock. The majority of them are located along the coast line facing inland. We have learnt so much about them as two days is a very long time to tour this tiny island!!!! AND our tour guide was so slow and unaccomodating she was driving us mad - both days we didnt end up having lunch until 2 and if you asked her for anything it was always to much trouble or too difficult.
We had lovely weather for the time we were there and today as we were leaving it started to rain - we think the island was sad to see us go but the rain did make it much easier to leave.
