Still affected by jet lag, waking for good about 3AM.Started the day by changing all our money into yen because it's hard to find a bank that'll do it, even with traveler's checks. That was in Ginza, the most expensive shopping area in the world. All the expensive stores are there.
At noon we went to the top of the Tokyo Govt Twin Towers. That's on the 45th floor. Could just barely make out Mt Fuji 50 miles away in the clouds. Then we walked to The Imperial Gardens. The plum trees were just startting to blossom. We had 2 English speaking volunteer guides with us that were very pleasant and informative. Then we went to a very nice hotel and had a private tea ceremony. The whole tour was almost 5 hours. Then Liz and I went to the Shinjuku area. The streets were full of people at 7PM. We found a little ramen shop and ordered #1 and #2. They were very good and filling, and although they spoke no English, the Beatles were playing in the background, and the words to Imagine were painted on the wall.
