Well, after what seemed like the longest journey in the world you will all be pleased to know that I'm finally here!! 4 flights in total and over 24 hours of travelling. Started off with emotional goodbyes in manchester aiport, which were awful, even worse as I was getting on the plane on my own. But after getting on the plane and discovering that there were 150 spare seats so I could have 2 seats to spread out across, as well as complimentary newspapers, blankets, food, sweets and alcohol the journey was starting to look a little better! I had thought I was only refuelling at doha aiport in the middle east which didnt seem too scary, when we got there however, I found out that we had to transfer onto other planes and there were hundreds of flights heading out within the hour to all over the world. The terminal was chaos and no one seemed to speak english, was called to gate 13 only to find that my plane seemed to be heading to singapore AND jakarta! Cannot tell u the relief when both me and my backpack arrived in singapore. Managed to kill a few hours in the aiport and bumped into cat and al at about 7ish, headed for burger king and a much needed catch up of the events of the last few months, had a few drinks in a bar and went to catch the flight to cairns! Plane was delayed but thankfully not by too long and we arrived in Cairns this morning. Couldn't get into our room at our hostel till this afternoon so spent a few hours by the pool this morning during which I appear to have got quite sunburnt - the sun in australia seems to be quite hot!!! need to learn a lesson there i think! Still havent slept so not sure how long I will stay awake at the bar tonight before I fall asleep!! Have already booked a 3 day tour up in Capre tribulation leaving on Saturday, hope we see some cool animals in the rainforest!
