It has been so long, I think we'll start with a giant pianeapple and seeing Maria, Craig and Jenson in Caloundra!!
Our time in Caloundra was all about just chilling out, football on the beach, tennis, sunshine, beach bbq's, fishing, being generally very well looked after, Maria's beautiful cooking and Craig's legendary homemade burgers!! Add to that a trip to a pinapple farm (home to the giant pineapple) and you have on perfect trip to Caloundra.
My highlight was learning to body surf with a random lady on dicky beach...awesome. Jez did a lot of fishing, which he really enjoyed.
We had the best of times with Craig and Maria. It was so lovely to see them and to see Jenson change everyday, learn to crawl and get his first tooth!! Just wish that it could happen more often. There is a chance we will be flying to the Phillipines for Jensons christening in December...that would be special.
When our stay in Caloundra was over, we
From Caloundra, we were lucky enough to pick up a campervan that needed relocating to Sydney. It was really cheap and very luxurious!
First stop on our coastal trip to Sydney was surfers paradise. Although it rained just after we arrived there, we had an afternoon to explore. What we saw of it was very cool. Lots of people learning to surf and beach bodies everywhere!! And, of course, a beautiful beach. We are always amazed by the beautiful beaches here!Coolangatta was our first nights destination. More stunning beaches! Particularly at sunrise. It was so calm and quiet. It made us feel ike we were the only people on earth.
After breakfast, we headed to the strangest, most 'hippie' place I have been to - Nimbin! Slightly inland, his was like being transported through time. Rainbows, 'peace' signs, 'save the world' logos and people selling weed everywhere! So perculiar, but brilliant!
That evening, we drove back towards the coast to stay in Byron Bay. Dominoes pizza tastes one million times better when you're sat on the beach at sunset eating it! Our trip to cape Byron lighthouse the next morning was also gorgeous, and we managed to spot some more whales just off the coast. Amazing!
Coffs harbour next, but we don't have much to say about it! A part from the giant banana that we saw (giant fruit everywhere in australia!), and a man making fresh candy, we didn't think much of coffs harbour. Maybe we missed something.
So, We moved on to Port Macquarie fairly quickly. Our memories of Port Macquarie will be buying some fresh prawns from a fish co-op and pelicans! Not your average duck just sat chilling on Arrow Vally lake. Huge pelicans just hanging out, as you do. Leading out from Port Macquarie, we took the coastal route, driving by yet more beautiful beaches, blue sea and sunshine. It is so relaxing!
The trip to Sydney from Caloundra was awesome. The campervan was something a bit different, and we loved it! Jez would'nt let me drive though...
Miss and love you all lots xxx
