We packed up the car and ate VooDoo Donuts for breakfast on our way to the Redwood National Forest!
It felt good to be back on the road.
We stopped for a bathroom break at a small town gas station.
The station attendant was very friendly and unlocked it for us.
He asked, "Are you all part of a volleyball team?" Commenting on us four tall ladies.
then the older attendant came out with a key too and the first guy said, "Your too late I opened it, you just came to see the pretty girls." hehehe
We went on our way and made it to the forest. It was gorgeous to drive through.
We decided to get out when we reached the Avenue of Giants.
But we did stop for lunch at the Palm Tree Cafe, a small random cafe along the side of the highway.
The items on the menu had funny names like, "The Trucker" and "The Old maid".
So that when Becky asked for the Trucker, the quirky waitress said, "You and me both honey!" hehe
We stopped on a spooky foggy beach to touch the ocean. When we got back in the car, we smelled something fishy! It was our shoes...so amanda sprayed our feet with her scented bug spray to mask the stench. hehehe
We got to the Avenue of Giants and got out at different spots along the way. Taking pictures with the huge and beautiful trees.
After we had our fill of redwoods. We headed towards our hotel, the Whale Watch Inn. The trip there was on the windiest road we had ever encountered and it made all of us a little sick to our stomachs.
But it was worth it! The Whale Watch Inn was amazing. The old night innkeeper was straight out of a mystery novel and she gave us red wine upon our arrival. She gave us a tour and showed us our room. It was sooo cozy. There was a fire waiting for us! She took our breakfast order and said goodnight.
We kept the wine going and finished 2 more bottles, while playing Apples to Apples.
One funny thing that happened was Amanda trying to pronounce, Jacque Gusto. hehe
She was also in cahoots with my mom, hehehe, but Becky won the game!
I didn't feel tired, but when i laid my head down I fell fast asleep.
