Started the day with a tour by boat across to a nomadic, yet settled village. After a beautiful trip across an enormous lake we arrived at the village and boated up the main street. the whole village floats; houses, a school, even a basketball court! The village stays near the shore, and is able to do so because it can float in and out as the level of the lake dramatically rises and falls over the seasons. At a stop in this village we saw a pen full of huge crocodiles, made of wood, submerged in the water, and rotting. They could have broken out of they wanted it surely! Yet there were kids paddling in wash basins around the edges of it! We also got to hold a toddlers pet snake for photos. Later that day we went to a cultural village which has been set up to let tourists experience Khmer life. We went to numerous staged ceremonies, including a wedding, a coronation, a tribal gathering and a traditional story. We saw miniatures of Khmer landmarks, and finished off the day with a traditional feast and watching apsara dancing!
