We arrived into Darjeeling yesterday morning, after a 17 hour train journey (3 hrs delay- what a surprise!). The train journey was probably the worst we've had so far, which is typical when it was the longest journey we have so far had to endure. We arrived into Varanasi this morning after a 12 hour train journey. It wasn't too bad, had a nice cabin for just the two of us, and managed to get a fair bit of sleep. We got to the hotel about 8am- very nice, overlooking the Ganges. We had breakfast on the rooftop (there is a restaurant up there- we didn't just climb up ourselves with a picnic!) and watched some monkeys (and goats!) scampering about on the rooftops. Hi everyone! Sorry for lack of updates recently- we've been spending a lot of time on trains, sight-seeing, etc. so not much time for computers!
