We arrived in Krabi a couple of days ago, it was only a short bus journey in comparrison to the 12 hour journey from Bangkok to Phuket. We are staying in a very remote local village, pretty much in the middle of absalute no where…. All that is in sight is the small private pier and the sea with many Islands in the background. There are mountains an trees all round us so walking in the evening can be interesting with the sounds of god knows what in the background! The weather feels even hotter here, our short walk to the beach was like walking through a desert for several hours. We have spent some time catching some rays to get a bit of colour on our pasty white skin, but not much luck as yet! Must have something to do with the factor 50 plus suncream we are using haha! We went to a local restaurant for food last night, Radleigh was in food heaven with loads of tasty local Thai dishes covered in chilli and for two main courses plus one for me and four drinks the bill was a whopping 175 baht which is about 3 pound its unbelievable.
There isn't much for us to do here apart from mix with the locals, laze about in the hammocks and eat, the town is about 30km away and we were put off the town the minute we arrived at the bus terminal, as the touts were on us like flies on s*** as we apprached the bus terminal they came running out of no where, asking where we want to go, "Big Budda? Phi Phi? By taxi bike, car or tuk tuk? Where you want to go?" Were getting the hang of these little trickers now and are good at keeping our heads down and saying the bare minimum when getting past these locals, who are actually only trying to earn money but at the same time rob us for all we have. There are many national parks on this part of the island which we are hoping to get to, we both fancy a shower in the hot steam waterfall , its actually nice to as we did so much walking in Phuket!
We have another 4 sleeps in this bamboo bungalow on the edge of the pier, so we plan on saving some money and hopefully getting some colour to blend in a little. All of the residents here are all German as is the owner, all very friendly but we can feel some what in the dark when they are having there group conversation in German , so I am working on a special language for just and me and Radleigh, it will help when trying to get rid of the touts that just don't take no for an answer too… They love the English!
We have taken millions of pictures but the internet connection here is just to slow to upload any L we will get some on as soon as we can though!
Its already been such a MASSIVE learning curve and experience we have seen some sights and soaked up some real culture that I didn't believe I or we would ever experience and living in the hut is just FAB, we even have our own private en suite, which is a bonus at the moment because my stomach isn't taking to the local food as quickly as I hoped. But all is great, were learning so much more about each other and truly having the time of our lives, planning our next trip which will be Thursday next week going to start our way to Malasyia so exciting. Will keep you all updated along the way :D
