This mornings drive proved amusing and adventurous for Mel and I today.
We randomly passed a horse and cart traveling on the highway, cringed when passing a road train (twice), 'exclaimed in astonishment' when passing two very big, dead Brahmans that had obviously been in a hit and run accident and nervously waited to see how our fuel consumption would go when we realized we incorrectly calculated the distance between the next fuel station.
As we passed over into the NT border, the scenery noticeably got dryer and more sparse. Red dust (bulldust) everywhere, this isolated area is home to some of the worlds biggest cattle stations!
Tonights stop off is 50km from Barkly Homestead (where we hope to arrive without running out of fuel tomorrow) we are camping in red dust and love it!
Highlight today: crossing the border to the NT
