It has been my final month in New Zealand. I have been up to loads recently, Chris's friend Caleb came up to visit about 2 weeks ago. So during his stay we headed to Dunedin (on his first day here) where we all went out with Chris's friends that used to work on the farm in Oamaru.
Then to Queenstown, every night we had a fergburger (the best burgers ever!!!) and had pre drinks in the hot tub every night, we did alot during the three days, the first day we played crazy golf and of course Caleb won and I finally beat Chris. We headed up to the top of the gondalor where we had three luge rides the first I got to a good lead untill the very end where Chris knocked me off. The second Caleb won and then they both beat me in the last because I was stuck behind some slow girl. Afterwards we went out to the buffalo club for the night and had a few beers so our heads we sightly sore the next day.
The second day we went skiing on the Coronet Peak where we taught chris to ski, he was getting really good and didnt have many falls at all and his parrell turns were going really well. (only when he turned left tho) We went on an off piste bit which was pretty good fun. looking forward to showing dad and tom how it is done! At the end we were all holding each others poles skiing down the slopes in one line. As usual we had a fergburger for dinner!!
The third day we hit the remarkables, (where they filmed part of lord of the rings) it was really cool. they dont have any red runs over here so the blues was a mix of blue and red. So we thought we'd take chris on his first blue which turned out a bit more trickier than expected, even if the sign at the bottom said 'not for beginners'. Anyway he made it down in one piece. I got air on one jump!! First jump I have ever done, pretty impressed I stayed up and everything on the landing. Cant wait till I next go skiing I might have another go on a few more jumps. I have been put off of burgers quite a lot since having soo many in those few days!
When we got back to Oamaru we went and saw the Blue Penguins (the smallest penguins in the world) we were locals so we got to go to the new stand where we were closer to the penguins and could walk through where they slept, it did stink! They all ran in pretty quickly they are amusing when they run.
Then Chris took Caleb to the airport as his flight was early in the morning.
I have been keeping in contact with a few girlies on skype like me and hebrons 2 hour skyping session and we only got stopped because Chris and Caleb wanted to go out for lunch, otherwise I dont know how long we could of kept talking for. And of course my skype with shamine which was really nice to finally talk to you again after like a year of whatsapping you!!
During september I was able to do work experience at the vet clinic in Oamaru every friday. I helped and watched, xrays and operations. I went out on call twice where there was skinny cows, broken elbows and a twisted caecum (which had to be operated on straight away) so I was holding parts of the caecum and intestines for the vet and passing him kneedles, stiches and iodine and everything like that. Which was pretty awesome fun!!
I finished working with the calves last week which was a shame but there wasnt much for me to do anymore. So I was just hanging out at home, riding Kylie's horse round the farm which was really good fun to get back on again. I am missing the horse riding! I am a bit out of practice I need a few Alice Darby lessons to get me going again! Also been sitting in the tractor with Chris when he has been fert spreading and when he feeds the calves, which is nice to get out the house.
We have had a few friends round for a meal (I do feel a bit grown up cooking for another couple) The food was good and Chris's potatoes were a hit! But I dont know what chef Tom would say about them tho ha.
So finally getting to the stage of going home and I have packed two suitcases worth of our stuff just got two more suitcases to go and then clean the house! which should be fun. it is pretty clean anyway so shouldnt take us too long! Our house is just full of drying clothes ready to be packed with the fire on at full blast to get it to dry.
Im looking forward to seeing everyone again from back home and my welcome back parties should be a good laugh especially as I can finally go out with my little brother now! I am looking forward to it. Also get to see my mum and LEO!! both I havent seen for this whole year, very excited.
We have got a meal planned for our goodbye thing and hopefully we can go out flying with Morgan on monday which I am pretty excited about then we fly out on wednesday morning.
