Hi, i can say very little that is different! When I got up this morning we couldn't agree over whethr the water level had risen or not. However, very quickly we could see that it was rising steadily. After a morning of playing on computers we decided to try to go into town for lunch whilst it was possible. After another scary ride into town through all the water and holes we arrived to start wadingthrough town again. We went to the Soup Dragon for Sian's leaving meal and then the heaven's opened and it rained torrentially for about 3 hrs. The tuk diver who was supposed to collect couldn't make it, so another guy was keen to earn a dollar, but he soon regretted his enthusiasm, as he struggled to keep the tuk upright and stop water getting into the engine. Near here he finally got stuck in one and had to get help to pull it out, but refused to let us get out as he would have lost face.
The water is still rising, so a truck will be our only way of escape again.
A guy from opposite us has spent a long time setting up a fishing net at the side of the road, I can imagine that he'll catch alot but none of it will be edible. This time the water has far more bris to carry and it looks so awful and goodness knows what diseases are in it.
The kids are enjoying the water, it helps that it is warm, but I wonder whether the sickness rate will shoot up. The kids in the villages are living in wet conditions, even if their home is above the water level - it is grim.
Everyone going past is so smily and friendly itis hard to think about the conditions they are living in.
Hopefully all will improve soon.
Take care and love to all, J x
