So this is likely to be my final blog from overseas - I bet you are all gutted!!
I'm in San Francisco and its a really lovely city. On Wednesday we went for a tour of the city with the first stop at the Golden Gate Bridge for photos. The bridge is huge and very impressive. It was a really sunny day as well so the pictures look good. Then we went to Golden Gate Park and had a look rouns the Japanese Tea Garden, followed by a cup of tea!! The park is a man-made park with loads of different things to see and do including a science museum, arts museum and a couple of botanic gardens. It was only a flying visit so we didn't get to see too much. We also stopped at twin peaks which is the tallest point overlooking the city of San Francisco and we got some more good photos. We were then dropped off at the waterfront after a drive through town.
After lunch we got on board the boat for Alcatraz which is only just over a mile from the city in the Bay. This tour was really cool and we had a good look around the island and the prison. After the tour we then caught a cable car back towards the hotel and I got to ride on the tailgate - just like you suggested, Dad!!
The following day we did a bit of shopping and then today we did a wine tour to the Nappa Valley. We stopped at 3 wineries and did some tasting and saw the beautiful Californian countryside. It was another lovely day.
This evening we've been to 'The Cheesecake Factory' which as any of you know who have been to the US, is THE place to get Cheesecake! I now have a slice of lemon and raspberry cheesecake waiting for me once I'm done on the internet so I won't be hanging around for long.
Thats me pretty much up to date. We are going to have a wander round the city tomorrow and get some last minute bits before getting the plane on Sunday afternoon. I have managed for 6 months with only 1 large bag, but tomorrow I think I may have to succumb to buying another one for the journey home!!!
I know a lot of you will be reading this at work, so if you are and its 9am Monday morning - I will be back in the UK in 2 hours!!!! xx
